Legacy Records is the first known American recording label to pay its artists, vendors, and contractors in cryptocurrency. Legacy Records, based out of Las Vegas, Nevada, was founded by its Chief Executive Officer, Keishia McLeod, in 2021.
The record label has been featured in Yahoo Finance, the LA Tribune, and numerous cryptocurrency news sources due to the new and exciting way of conducting business and altering the industry. Legacy Records has brought Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) as well as Bitcoin-loaded ledgers into their sponsorships and payment forms.
Legacy Records has major partnerships with 300 Music Distribution Company, Navarro W. Gray of the Gray Law Firm in New Jersey, and even The Fibonacci Queen, Carolyn Boroden. Legacy Records currently features and has signed artists such as Suave Fello, Lil Rottie, KandymanBK, Fireman Bands, and Alshawn Martin.
Legacy CEO Keishia McLeod has been involved in cryptocurrency for many years yet has founded numerous other successful businesses and ran worldwide corporations.
In 2021, Legacy Records was the premier sponsor of the Lamar Odom v. Aaron Carter Celebrity Boxing Match that took place at the Showboat Hotel in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where McLeod awarded a $50,000 Bitcoin ledger to Lamar Odom for his victory.
